Blogs - Larjan's blog / God's word is the way the truth and the life - Posts

I cast my vote, what will you do?

To begin with; I know this blog is not the norm. Please bear with me as I am directed to write. You see when a person follows Jesus Christ, and listen to the Spirit beckening them, they out of boldness and no fear will do a lot of amazing things. I take for granted the verse in the Word of God that says, take no thought of what you will say, "I will put the words in your mouth." Glory to God, Praise Him. To begin with, let me give to you my testimony of what God has, and is now doing in my life. My name is Larry Lakey. My wife and I use the name LARJAN, abreviation of larry and janet. I believe God has given each one of us a name, our names are to stand out; with this I mean if we follow God, we should not hide behind a stage name. This is coming from me, not the Word of God, this is what larry lakey believes.

Janet and I was living in a little community in NE Texas. Times were really hard for us. We had bought a place close to my sister and her husband. They were in bad health and needed a lot of care. Anyway I was hired as a security guard for a roofing manufacturer in a little town close by. It was a fairly large company and I worked from 10 at night until 6am in the morning. My job was to leave the guard house once each hour, check the status of all the equipment inside, search the building for intruders, read the guages, check the fire temperature in the fire pit, and then walk around the whole perimeter. Now this was a very large spooky place, dark and all I had was a flashlight. It was so scary that as soon as I left the guard house, I would begin to pray. To top it off a railroad track ran right by the plant, and this was the time when the mass killer that rode the freight trains and killed people at different places. I later found out that after he had killed a person at a little town close by that he rode a train right by where I worked!

I have been a christian for many years. I accepted the Lord when my first wife and I had a farm in North Texas. It was a very small church, a hand full of members. Later I made my home in Dallas, Texas, worked at an Electronic distributor for 25 years and retired as a vice president of the company. My wife and I was like so many, we became very materialistic, we had large beautiful houses, raised 6 children, and was in other words unhappy with what we have, as so many that are trying so hard to keep up their status do. I thought that having a lot of things would bring joy and happiness. I always thought in church that if we could give our 10% tithes and listen to what the preacher had to say that this would be good enough. Now like so many others being materialistic and trying to raise a family on a 6 figure income that still would not quite stretch, in order to have what we wanted; so many times we could not pay our 10% to the church! Not that we didn't want to, we really was made to feel quite guilty, but to keep up our unhappy life styles we were slack on tithes! Does this sound familiar to you. The words in Malachi "Will a man rob God", kept resounding in our minds, thinking all along that all God through Malachi was talking about is money. We have been literally brainwashed into thinking that all that matters is MONEY.

Brother Rick Warren has said, and I have come to believe the same thing; "Being rich is not a sin, a sin is dying rich. We cannot outgive God, if our heart is right. Tithing is old testament to support the Levites and the temple. "What don't you know that you are the temple of God." We as Christians should be thinking about giving all we have in Godly (Agape) love, money, time, and possessions if this is what God wants. You see, it (christianity) is not about us, it is about God. We are not to be people pleasers, but be God pleasers, with what manner of good works we can glorify and magnify His name with. It is our responsibility to take care of the poor and needy, the widows and the orphans, feed, clothe, and live a life worthy of His Name. Amen!!

Janet and I receive e-mails nearly everyday political in nature from preachers and others and quite frankly it turns our stomaches to know that politicians are being let use the sacredness of the church to get their messages across. When are we that are called by His name going to seek His face, and pray. If we all would do this then Jesus would heal our butchered land. Our country was founded by the fathers to remove the tyranny of religion, and that we could all have a free mind, not brain washed. While on the subject of tyranny, have you ever received an e-mail that started something like this; "I see you have some good knowledge of the bible." This also comes from a person using a stage name instead of a real name. Someone who wont admit to it, but has been indoctrinated by the theology of man. Lets put God back in control. We that are Christians know what the bible says, if we don't shame on us, we don't need fear of man in our lives. We are all to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. I want you to know that I love you all with Agape love, my prayer is that we all put God back in control of our lives, help the poor and needy, the widows and the orphans, and all learn to love and come together in unity, fellowship, trust, and peace. Have a beautiful God filled Christmas season, and our wish for you is to have a happy, and spiritual rich new year. God bless larry

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has given some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers. This is for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, and for the edifying of the body of Christ untill we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head-Christ- from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does it's share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:9-16

The above statement is true and correct as it is written. How hard is it for you to understand what Christ is saying. How much longer will it be for the long suffering of Christ? We are living in a period of lawlessness now as the Holy Scripture says. How, just how are you taking care of the poor and needy, the widows and the orphans? You set up and blaspheme the government all the time, the government that God has chosen to be over us! Don't you know how to change what is happening? The body of Christ should be taking care of all the needy, all the widows and orphans, not the government. The body of Christ should be living in a way that is godly and righteous, living an example to the children, the poor and the needy, the hated, and all the unlovely people. Love your neighbor as yourself, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. These are not my words; these words came for the King of kings, the Lord of Lord's, the great I Am, our creator. All Christians regardless of race, creed, or culture should be loved and nourished, loved and nourished not only spiritually, but also physically. It is a shame to see the greed, and the lust going on in our churches.

I wrote an article one time called Christians should not have to be beggars! Just think about it. We have eyes, do we see? We have ears, do we listen? Do you think people only get hungry 2 or 3 times a year? Are we truly serving Christ and the one's that desparately need our help? I am sorry folks, but the truth is this, most of us are sitting on our rears in a beautiful building, some giving their 10% trying to fool themselves that this is the way; when people are hungry, and needy in the very same neighborhoods! Is this what Christ wants? I think not! Whatever happened to one accord; also what happened to every one had all things in common. Do you listen to what God is saying to you? What if God is saying to you, go sell your possessions, give to the poor and the needy, and take up your cross and follow me? What would you do? Does God want you to be coveteous? Heavens no, God says in his word that if we are coveteous that we cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven!

The apostle Paul has written in Galations this: I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. We need to study God's word, be doers and not listeners only. We as believers will have to step up to the plate, for in the book of James it says that Faith without Works is dead. The individual christian that does not good works is in danger of a spiritual death.

Let him who is taught the word share in All good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man Sows, that he will also Reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting Life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to All, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

LUKE Chapter 22: 1-13

1: Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.

2: And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

When we plan to do things that are against God's law, and things that are against the law of the land, we become afraid. We are afraid we will be caught, afraid of what the people will do or say, we feel fear. The world calls it a guilty conscience, a premonition. The fact is, it is God speaking to us. The Holy Spirit counsels us and guides us. When we still listen, we will hear God speaking to our spirits and we know that what we are planning is wrong. The chief priests and scribes knew that murder is a sin, whether or not they also knew in their hearts that Jesus was and is who He said He is has not been clearly told to us. But they knew what they were planning was morally and spiritually wrong, and they were afraid of the people.

3: Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

4: And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.

5: And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

6: And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

Then entered Satan into Judas ------------

When we forget to pray, forget to put on the whole armor of God, satan can find our weak spots and tempt us to to ungodly things, such as, lie - cheat - steal - do as the world does until the world can no longer see any difference in us.

And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains how he might betray him unto them.

We often go our way, thinking we are doing God's will, and we associate with, communicate with people of like mind, planning things that are against God's will. And when we do this, we are planning how we might betray Him and deliver Him into satan's hands. We are to watch and pray always, without ceasing so we do not betray Jesus.

And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.

When we step out of God's will, people who are not of God, who are of the world always rejoice, are always very happy to see God's children slip and fall. When we fall into temptation, we are telling the world we approve of what they are doing, and that we enjoy doing these things also. This is what Jesus calls putting on the old coat, the old ways, forgetting that we are bought with a price. We are crucifying Christ all over again.

And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

Devious things are always done in darkness, in lonely places away from crowds. And yes it does take planning. But man's plans always come to nothing. Everything done in darkness always comes to light. Yes, Judas carried out his plan, he found a way, but only because it was Jesus time and Jesus allowed it. But even though the plan was carried out in secret, the whole world knew and does still know what Judas did. And we know what happened to Judas because of his plan and what he purposed in his heart.

7: Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.

The day of unleavened bread, when the passover (lamb) must be killed.

The blood of he lamb must be spilled and put on the doorposts of our hearts. That day is now! We need to be covered with the blood of Jesus, our passover lamb.

8-13 These verses tells us that Jesus sent out two apostles with specific instructions on where and how to prepare the passover. Jesus also told them the room would be furnished, and they found everything just as Jesus had said it would be, and when they found the room, they prepared the passover. THEY HEARD THE INSTRUCTIONS, THEN THEY OBEYED!!! How often do we hear, but decide that it is not God speaking to us? We justify our thoughts by asking over and over again, is this you Lord, or is this my thoughts? God tells us we will know our masters voice. He also tells us we are to have the mind of Christ. So if we have the mind of Christ, we do know our masters voice and his thoughts are our thoughts. So why are we wasting time asking these questions? Is it because we are looking for a different answer? Is it because we do not want to obey even though we say that we do? Do we really mean what we say? God knows the answer but we have to search our souls and face what we already know.

How say you; The ones called christians

Needless to say our e-mail this morning, the same as in all days, is cluttered up by all types of mail, mostly political, and the most part is talking in a way not beholding to the Lord Jesus Christ. The sad thing is those who profess to be christians are acting in a hypocritical way with idle talk not worthy of saying. The world is for political action, the christians should and will be if they are a born again believer; the ambassadors of Christ, and they should be more concerned with souls then they are with worldly things. I see, and hear ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ getting wrapped up in worldly political practices, I see, and hear christians sending out, and speaking bad things all over.

I have sent out e-mail, written articles, have pleaded for people to open up their eyes and hear what God is saying but it seems to no avail. I have sent e-mail messages to family, friends, ministers with very few responses on the very important mission work, both in the United States, and abroad and guess what------these e-mails are not answered, they are ignored, but at the same time, ministers I might add are sending more political garbage!

Paul said; "What? Don't you know that you are the temple of God?" Now if we are the temple of God don"t you think that we should imitate Jesus Christ, or do you believe? The just shall live by faith; Faith in a Holy Righteous Lord, or faith in your pocket book, or greedy lawless mind!

We that follow the Way are the salt of the earth. But God has told us that if we lose our flavor that we are not fit for the dung heap. I think repentance is in order, don't you? It is time that God's people get off their lazy complacent rears, repent, seek God, follow Him and be sanctified to the world.

Faith, Works, Righteousness     Habakkuk 2:4 "Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith." What is this verse telling you? It tells me that if we are self reliant, following the way of the world, we do not have that thing called faith in a Living God that provides for us. In other words; going to the well known verse in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Why is the bible, the Words of God so hard to understand? Have you ever asked this question? The bible was written by inspired men of God over many years. The Word of God is true from the very first utterance word of God; to the very last word. Some in the world tries to disprove the Holy Scripture but cannot. They try to invent, change the words, remove God's words, all in the name of science, religion, and false teaching. The just live by faith! Paul wrote in Romans chapter one; "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith." Hebrews 11:1 says that Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen. Do you believe in unseen evidence? Some say they are born again Christians, that when they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ that eternal life will be theirs! Amen. I believe this also. This is absolutely unseen evidence of faith. But some of these folks have no faith in other parts of God's Holy Word, in other words they believe in part. This is such a dangerous thing for their eternal soul, that is an unjust weak faith! In the first chapter of the book of Romans God tells us that His wrath is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. Since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse. The chapter goes on to tell us that although men know God they didn't and some of us don't glorify God as God, being unthankful, and as a result becomes futile in our thoughts, and if this happens we can be cast back into the world to a reprobate heart. People of this world, as in ages past have many, many idols that they worship! Be honest, is there anything on this earth that you worship more than God? Such as family, cars, jewelry, anything? My son and his wife lived in New York in the Bronx. They were really having a hard time. their cloths were old and ragged. They wanted to attend a church service in Manhattan. Now this in the world's eyes was a very affluent church. My son got kicked out of the church because his clothing was not good enough! Guess what - this type of thing goes on in other places, not often but a lot. I can think of many instances where this thing goes on in religious circles. When people are like this God gives them up to uncleaness, to the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves. These change the truth of God into a lie! Through the lusts of their hearts they worship the foolish things more than the Creator. As this article is getting quite lengthly; I will close part one. May the Living One and Only God, the Lord Jesus Christ bless and keep you until next time. larry

The book of Jonah in the old testament is a short book, only 3 chapters but it never ceases to amaze me about how God takes care of us, the kindness, and the mercy He shows to us.

Well anyway,  Have you ever been mad at God?  Has God ever called you to do something for Him that you have outright refused to do?  Has God ever chastised you?

Well most of you by being honest , including this writer, would answer in the affirmative to these questions!  We serve a mighty, caring, and merciful God that takes care of us totally.  We find in the story of Jonah that God called Jonah for a special purpose, that is to go to Nineveh and preach to them.  God told Jonah to cry out to them because of their great wickedness.  Now, just how many people in this day and time is crying out to the people to change their wicked ways, repent and to seek God?  How many more people would be crying out, that is if they obeyed God's command?

Truth is, most of us are rocks, large rocks that cannot be moved!  Only the Lord Jesus Christ is capable of moving us.  For the most part of us, we all are in some type of storm continuously, some being tossed to and fro like waves on the ocean.  Jonah tried to run from God, and not do what God wanted him to do.  Jonah was so stubborn and obstinate.  He thought that he could have his own way, hide from the Father and not do His will.  Well, we know about Jonah being swallowed by a great fish, and being vomited up on the shore of Ninevah.  Jonah talked about being in the fishes belly, was like being in hell.  God gave Jonah time to collect his thoughts, and beg mercy from the living God.

The Lord Jesus Christ has told us that He is the Vine, and we are the branches.  Now the branches have to be continually pruned to bear fruit.  The more pruning that is done, the more fruit we will bear for God.  Sometimes the pruning process hurts very much, especially if we have been disobedient to God.

Jonah was cast upon the shore of Ninevah and was spoke to the second time and was commanded to preach the message that God gave him.  Jonah was to preach throughout the city of Ninevah that in forty days Ninevah  would be overthrown!

Praise the Almighty Living God that the people of Ninevah believed God, repented, and all cried out to God with fasting and sackcloth.  Then God saw their works, that they had truly repented, and turned from their evil ways, and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon Ninevah!

How quickly sometimes we forget.  After being obedient to God and preaching to the people of Ninevah, Jonah had the nerve to be angry?  He was acting so complacent, just like some of us do.  Lord, why did you want me to do this, we could have prayed from our country, we know you are a loving God, and would relent, and really, we don't think you would do this, and besides, these are wicked heathen and I just don't like them.  I feel that I am better then them, oh Lord, just why would you send me to these terrible people?

Even after seeing what the Lord had done, Jonah was still so angry that he was praying to die.  The Lord kindly asked Jonah, "Is it right for you to be angry?"  How many times do we get angry?  In the eleventh verse of chapter 4 God told Jonah this, "And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred and twenty thousand persons who cannot discern between their right hand and their left-and much livestock?"

You see, when we realize that God is no respector of persons, that if He commands us to do a work for Him, we are to do it!  We are not to be man pleasers, but to worship and please God.  Too often man tries to glorify himself instead of the Lord Jesus.  Yes, each time I read the book of Jonah something new amazes me.  May God bless you and keep you.

Christ the Judge
Category: Life Mathew 7:1  Jesus Christ is telling us this; "Judge not, that you be not judged."
Romans 2:1  Saint Paul tells us in God's Word;  Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you  judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things
Now I personally don't know about you, whoever you are, but I have to be honest about the two statements; one from our Lord Jesus, the other from Paul; that I have to fight against flesh on a daily basis, renewing my mind in the Lord, praying that I cannot be found guilty of judging!  To judge is to pass sentence on someone, or something.  Who are we that does such a sin?
Jesus our Lord has said in Mathew 7:3;  "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in you own eye?"
Paul said in Romans 15:1;  We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Again, I have to be honest.  When we see the weakness in some of our brother's;  Is it just an observation out of love for them, or is it a type of being puffed up in one's self, to make ourselves, or try to make ourselves look better to man, instead of holding up the weak brother, strenghthening him in the Word and the prayer of love?
Again in Galatians 6:1 Paul is saying;  Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
Saint  Peter in 1Peter 4:8 gives the key that will overcome:  And above all things have fervent love for on another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins."  The word fervent means to exhibit great emotion or warmth; to be ardent in having the compassion, devotion, enthusiasm, and zeal.  A lot of meaning in this Word fervent!
Romans 14:13 says; Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resove this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way.
1 Corinthians 4:5  Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts.  Then each one's praise will come from God.
Yes finally in John 4:12,  There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy.  Who are you to judge another?
Yes my brother's and my sister's;  We are to renew our minds daily in our Lord Jesus Christ and put aside the backbiting, arrogancy, the puffing up of one's self, and above all; do not judge one another.  May God Bless each and every one of my brethren.

Tuesday, Wednesday and today, we had webcam praise worship and prayer services with Brother Nehemiah, Brother Christy and the children from the orphanage.  There were also ministers present and today one of the teachers of the children was present.  We were privileged also today to participate in a birthday party by way of webcam.  We had five prayer points that we prayed for every day, also we were put in contact with three people that we were able to minister to and pray with.  All three days we had songs of praise, a message was brought and we had people participating in prayer.  It was a blessed time for all who attended.  We thank all of you who stood with us in prayer and we expect God to do mighty things.  God bless,   Janet

This speaks to my soul, in our behalf and on the behalf of others who are suffering from illness or from spiritual attacks.

Psalm 25

1. Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul

2. O my God, I trust in thee; let me be not ashamed, let not my enemies

Triumph over me.

3. Yes, let none that wait on thee be ashamed which transgress without

Cause.

4. Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.

5. Lead me in your truth, and teach me; for you are the God of my

Salvation; on you do I wait all the day:

6. Remember, O Lord, your tender mercies and your loving kindnesses:

For they have been ever of old.

7. Remember, not the sins of my youth, or my transgressions: according

To your mercy remember thou me for they goodness' sake, O Lord.

8. Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his

Way.

10. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth to all who keep his

Covenant and his testimonies.

11. For thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

12. What man is he that fears the Lord? Him shall he teach in the

Way that he shall choose.

13. His Soul shall dwell at ease: and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will

Show them his covenant.

15. Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet

Out of the net.

16. Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and

Afflicted.

17. The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my

Distresses.

18. Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19. Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with

Cruel hatred.

20. O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put

My trust in thee.

21. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22. Redeem Israel (me), O God, out of all his (my) troubles.

Just who do you glorify?
Current mood:  blessed
Category: Life Our heart felt emotions and attitudes should be aimed in one direction, and one direction only;  and that is, that everything we do and say should be to the glory of God.  We as individuals can either glorify Satan, or glorify the Lord, this is our God given right.
Man's sin began in the garden of Eden long, long ago;  when Adam partook of the forbidden fruit and disobeyed God.  Since that time all men have been born into sin, with a sinful nature from Satan.  The Lord Jesus Christ became a perfect sacrifice for us all that repent from their evil ways and choose to follow Him, and to obey the gospel, and follow His commandments.
The word repent means to turn away.  In the bible Jesus tells us to repent; or in other words turn away from the world.  The world means even though we live in this shell now, in the world, we are to turn away from worldly things;  these things mostly mean Greed, Self Righteousness, Materialism, Pride, Haultiness, Evil and Harsh Words, Respectors of Men, and any Immorality.  If we practice these things without repenting; then God is not in us.
Is 49:3  "And He said to me, 'You are My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.'
Jn14:13  And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Now in 1Pe 4:11 pay particular attention what Peter is saying:  If anyone speaks, let him speak as the Oracles of God.  If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, THAT IN ALL THINGS GOD MAY BE GLORIFIED THROUGH JESUS CHRIST, TO WHOM BELONG THE GLORY AND THE DOMINION FOREVER AND EVER. Amen.
Those of us who are born again believers should obey the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ; to serve Him, to honor Him, to worship and adore Him; in everything we are.  The only mission in life we should have is to put God ahead of all, and to glorify and magnify Him.
It's a shameful act to be so greedy as to beg God for money, and to also follow this false doctrine of money sowing.  God is faithful to us if we follow Him.  He will provide all of our needs, and provide a way to help those less fortunate then we are.  God provides help from many, many sources.  We are to take care of the poor and needy that God puts in our path.
We are to use the God given talents we have.  If we don't use them, God will remove them from us.  What did Jesus tell us in the parable of the talents?
Study Mathew 25:14-30, and pay very close attention what Jesus tells us in the 30th verse.  Now it does not take a brain surgeon to recognize what Jesus is talking about, altho this verse never seems to be included in a man made bible study book.  It says:  'And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness.  There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
I pray that all those whom have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ will repent from all their worldly ways, grow in the Holy Spirit, and become fruitful.  Put away all the greed, anger, harsh talking, and anything else that is glorifying Satan.  The decision is in your hands.  We are all to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.  Jesus has told us that many will be called but few will enter the kingdom of heaven.  May God bless and keep you all.

We find in this world that millions and billions of dollars are spent on all types of sports. We sit and watch all types of sports on television, we pay big money to go and watch games, and most know the players names, and sometimes set them up as icons in our lives. Children are generally taught from the cradle to the grave that it is a shame to lose. Schools push sports on their teaching agenda's; even sometimes over the academic achievements. Scholarships are won by individuals that are proficient in sports and are tutored to get thru college by their athletic ability instead of academic ability. This is under the guise of "Who is the greatest."

The apostle Paul when blinded by the Glory of the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus found out "Who was the Greatest." Now it appears that Paul was a very affluent person. He was a Pharisee trained under a great Pharisee named Gamaliel. Paul's family was fairly wealthy. So-The question is this; Why do you think a man that had worldly means would submit himself to beatings, scorn, clothes being rags, being rejected by the organized religion of the day, and eventually imprisoned and executed for his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? Paul understood the sports in his days. They were even more violent than they are today; I believe that Paul before he died made the statement that he had run a good race! Paul was not fearful for his own life, he understood that he would be going to his just reward.

Now; The question "Who is the greatest?" Mathew 18 starting in verse 1. At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. "Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. "Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

What is the Christ saying to us? First of all Jesus is telling us to be Humble. Men are born in sin to be prideful, envious, and covetous. First Jesus tells us to be humble, to put away this earthly better than thou pride that we have. Then he tells us that we are to be like little children. When our earthly dads was teaching us we put aside our prideful nature when in his sight. If we didn't, we knew what might happen. The Lord God is our Father, we should put aside our pride and become humble.

Jesus said to us; "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. "Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

We are to spiritually cut away our sinful flesh daily. God has told us that if our hand or foot causes us to sin, then to cut it off. If our eyes cause us to sin, pluck them out. Anything that causes us to sin, spiritually remove it. We are not to do anything in words, deeds, or any other way to cause a Christian to stumble. We are to live a life devoted to the Lord Jesus Christ, and to follow His commandments. When we as Christians put our hand to the plow, we cannot look back. When we accept Christ in our lives and have counted the cost of doing so, we accept a lifetime of service to the Lord. If we talk the talk, we should walk the walk. If we think more of our life than the Lord, then we don't have Him. If we think more of money, material things, family, or any other thing more than God, then we don't have Him. We either serve God or we serve Satan.

So; In this writer's opinion, Jesus Christ is the Greatest One of all. He shed His blood for you and me.

Silver and Gold
Current mood:  thankful
Category: Life

Man's greedy quest for riches and material wealth has always been attributed in one way or another for these fairly rare precious minerals.  This is why the Bible has so many symbolic statements pertaining to silver and gold.  In  the book of Revelation, when Jesus Christ was talking about the lukewarm church He said;  "I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed, and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.  Therefore be zealous and repent."
Now;  If you will permit this poor old ignorant unschooled man try to explain what the Lord God almighty was talking about in this statement;  Please bear with me.  First of all Jesus Christ was counseling the lukewarm church to be refined as the purity of gold in the Almighty Spirit of God.  Jesus is warning to not place our livelyhoods on wealth; but to be rich in the Spirit.  He is warning us to not be greedy, to live a godly obedient life, to be approved in the wonderful Word and love of Almighty God, to open our eyes and heart to Him.  Have you wondered about this last sentence He has put into the Word; "Therefore be zealous and repen?"  Does this last satement, could it possibly mean;  that if we are not zealous in the things God has told us to do, and if we are complacent in our lives, or duties to God that He will spew us out as vomit?  Why possibly does He put this Word Repent in?  After all we are told by man that once saved, always saved.  This in essence is a true statement,  and I agree that it is true as long as we are obedient to the Word, and that we do not willful sin after once tasting Christ.
Okay;  bear with me.  In the 3rd chapter of Acts in the infancy of the church of the Lord Jesus is the story of the lame man being healed by God thru Peter and John.  Verse 2.  And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple:  who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.  And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us."  So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.  Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you:  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."  And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
Now this is one powerful story from the Word of God!  Why do you suppose God wanted this in His Word?  My thoughts are these.  When we live by the Word of God, and we are obedient to the Word, when we have the Holy Spirit working in our lives;  All of a sudden we realize that the greed of this world comes to nothing.

When we are living in Christ, we are empowered by God thru His Holy Spirit for one reason only, not for out wealth and well being, but for the purpose of glorifying the Almighty God, King of Kings, our Creator, the Lord Jesus Christ.  This Power that born again Christians obtains thru the Holy Spirit cannot be bought, cannot be sold; It is not to edify man; Never, but only to Glorify God.
I hear of churches sending people to healing schools!!  Maybe some of you have tried to buy, or pay money to learn how to heal sickness!  The only answer I can give you is to put on Christ, thru His Spirit He will make you very rich in His Spirit, but a warning,  this gift is not to puff up, nor to edify man, but to glorify Jesus Christ.
One time we had moved to Branson, Mo. for a season, taking care of family, and a strange thing, I thought it strange occured.  There was a big name in the church denomination that was coming to Branson to preach.  Now I know this man is very rich in worldly wealth.  He normally gives his message on TV and he is a powerful speaker.  Now he stops right when the meat of the message is getting good, a moderator comes on and says that to get all of his message just send a certain amount of money, and they will send cds.  Anyway he was coming to Branson and was only charging $15 dollars, plus offering for listening to his sermon!  Now what is wrong with this picture.
Now I am not judgeing, only trying to open eyes to what is going on in the world.  I know that in the end when we all stand before our Lord at the great White Throne that Jesus is going to separate the sheep from the goats.  God is Faithful and True, He does not lie.  We are all pulled to Him for one purpose, and one purpose only to serve Him, and not to serve the world.  We do not as born again christians sell the gospel, nor use the power we have to edify man, nor ourselves.  If we are of this world, we will perish with this world.  If we think more of worldly wealth, riches, are anything else we will not be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
We have received a bulletin lately saying that all christians should pray each day for the country, and the world we live in.  This is good.  But the only thing that I can say is that we all should have the prayers in our hearts long before the crisis in this country took place.  We all should be living in Christ instead of living in the law of sin and death.  This is whats wrong with this country;  Not the government, but the people that lives here.  When we take our eyes off of God and try to serve ourselves, this always happens.  May our God and Creator have mercy upon us all is my prayer.  Amen.    Larry

Something for Nothing
Current mood:  blessed
Category: Life

The world we live in has gone completely insane.  Everyone is wanting a quick fix for every situation in their lives.  Children for the most part are raised from the cradle to the grave by television, all types of violent games, and movies.  Even the so called christian movies have a human slant instead of being accurate and true.  We have in our computors both capacity for good, and capacity for evil.  We have spaces such as my-space, my-yearbook, and a host of other sites, these also I am saddened to say have a capacity for both good and evil.  Even some of the churches that we attend is teaching another Jesus.  We have people teaching our children that anything goes in life, that all you need to do is to recognize the Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world.  Children for the large part are not being taught right from wrong.
But;  what do you think when children hears about the debauchery, the crookedness, the lying, the anger, the adultery, the stealing, and the non-compasion, and non-nurturing of the adults that are supposed to be teaching right from wrong?  What about the sins, the stealing, the greed, and the lying of our government and financial institutions.  We have so many bastard children, product of fornication, and adultery.  We seem to look the other way when people are living together, and producing children out of wedlock.
We; As Christians should set an example to the world as a Way of Life.  Somehow we have to reach the youth and their families now!  We cannot afford to wait for them to come to us.  I admire all the street ministers in this country, and church groups going house to house, one on one ministering and spreading the Good News about the gift of salvation the Only begotten Son of God has given to us.  You see when we go to the unbelievers we don't have the time to sit and be complacent.
Folks the worlds time is ticking off the seconds, minutes, and the hours.  The bible tells us that there will be a time when people will be searching for the true word of God and cannot find it.  Oh, what a sad time when the world goes back to darkness without God.  The bible says that the harvest is ready, but the laborers are few!  Just what does this tell us?
Everything has a price.  Their is not anything free in this world.  The only thing free is the free Gift of eternal Life that the Lord Jesus Christ can give us.  This is the only thing that should matter to each and everyone of us.  Now when we repent and turn from our evil ways, recognize and believe in pure faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He was crucified, and that His Spiritual blood washes away our sins, that He arose from the grave on the third day, and that He now sits at the right hand Power of God,  then we must count the cost of this free Gift.  When we are baptized and the Holy Spirit of God lives in us, we are not to turn back to the world.  The bible says that when we put our hand to the plow, to not look back!  When we accept the Lord Jesus Christ we follow the Lord and we give up the ways of the world.  By the Holy Spirit we can have forgiveness, we can love our neighbor as ourself.  We by the Holy Spirit can put God before anything, even to the point of loseing friends and family.  This will mean that God has control over our lives.
All of us that are Christians need to humble ourselves, pray, and seek God's face.  Our world has always been wicked and evil, but it is getting to be back to the same as it was in Noahs day.  Wicked and violent.  The bible tells us about the end time.  It is fast approaching.
In closing is scripture from Revelation chapter 3, "These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 'I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot.  I could wish you were cold or hot.  "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.  Because you say,  I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked--I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed: and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.  Therefore be zealous and repent.
May God bless and keep you strong in Him.   Larry

The peoples Choice

Freedom and liberty is a choice many, many people do not have in this world. We have freedom of choice in choosing the type of work we do; Even freedom of choice not to work. We have the freedom to live where we want to live, own property, raise our children, and above all we have the choice to serve God; or reject God. Our nation is so full of liberty to do as one wills. We can speak evil, or we can speak civil. We can use harsh vulgar words, but we can speak in a kind gentle way. Yes, the choice is definitely yours.

As for me and my family I choose living to the best of my ability choosing The Lord Jesus Christ as my pattern for living. He is such a wonderful, kind, gentle boss over all humanity! Does God have a temper? I will answer that with a resounding Yes, He does. You see God loves all of us, He has given all of mankind the freedom to make our own choices, and to take the liberties of living as we choose. Even though God loves all of mankind He hates sin. Yes He does! The bible says that the wages of sin is DEATH! This means spiritual death. You see, before the Only Begotten Son of God came, mankind was under the law. There was no way man could live a life of freedom and life under the Law of God. After the fall of man in the garden of Eden all of Adams seed then, as now, is born in sin. Now the Old Testament is the story of redemption being revealed, and the New Testament of God is about redemption being fulfilled with the Birth, death, and Resurrection of our One and Only true God the Lord Jesus Christ; The Lamb of God.

We have so much man made doctrine and dogma in the Church today. We have got it backwards church. Church is for fellowship and the worship of a living God. We should not expect the unsaved to come to us, but we are to go to the unsaved. Just how can we that are called the elect and the saints of God be so complacent in our thinking and in our ways. We are to be ambassadors of The Lord Jesus Christ whom we serve. We are to spread the good news around the world! We are not supposed to sit on our laurels and expect someone else to do the Good Work that the Holy Scriptures talks about. Most of you; sorry to say do not know what this good work is. I see week after week folks reading and studying sometimes little pamphlets that man has written and given their ideas on. The scripture is of no private interpretation which means that scripture interprets scripture and not man.

The Holy Scripture tells us that once we have put our hand to the plow to not look back. Folks, we cannot be a pretender, or sometime Christian, but when we serve in God's army we sign up 24/7, and joyfully so. We are to judge no man, nor are we to speak evil of anyone, both living or dead. My friends, we have a lot of repenting to do. We need to humble ourselves, pray, and seek God's face; then God will hear our prayers and heal the land. This I know is a hard blog to take but the Sword of the Word is sharper than any two edged sword, and it cuts deep all the way down to the marrow of the soul.

Now to the unsaved! You must be born again to be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven. You must be born of the Water and of the Spirit. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, The Word was with God, and The Word Was God. Now the Word is The Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus was in the beginning with God. Now Jesus Christ is called The Lamb of God because the Perfect man God created by a virgin birth was crucified and shed His blood for us on the cross of calvary. Jesus lay in the grave for 3 days, and then resurrected in a glorified body, and 40 days later ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand power of God. Before He was resurrected He told us that all power and authority was given to Him over the heavens and the earth, and that He, this Jesus Christ, is the Rock that His church is built on.

Now here it is! If the Father in Heaven is pulling at your heart, and you want salvation, just ask The Lord Jesus Christ to come into your heart. Jesus is knocking at the door. You must be immersed in the baptismal living water, and the Spirit of the Living God will come into your heart, wash you in the spiritual blood that was shed on the cross, and give you a measure of Grace to live under. The earthly desires, and worldly lust will disappear and you will be a true child of God. You will become adopted heirs of God. Heaven is your extended home. Remember this, all of you. Jesus Christ is the judge of the quick and the dead. The quick will be in heaven, the dead means a spiritual death and will reside in torment.

May God bless you, May He strengthen you, May He always be with you.

Hello,

Let me introduce ourselves to you. My name is Larry and my wife's name is Janet. We are both ordained ministers of Christ. We currently minister God's word on: Face book, My Space, and Agape Jesus. These are all generated internet sites. We also are traveling evangelists doing revivals and spreading the word of God. Now, enough about us. We just wanted you to know where our hearts are!

Lately, we have been in contact with two different locations in southern India. These are Christian sites which after the close of this letter, we will have all the correspondence attached for you to view.

One site is Brother Isaac's ministry. This man has planted seven churches, and is constantly receiving new converts to Christ to the extent that they are having to stand outside of the buildings. He also is taking care of orphans. This without any support. He has never asked for anything but our prayers. But, folks, he is hurting very much financially. His orphan children need things like blankets to keep warm in the winter.

Isaac (Kailay Raju), is a converted Hindu, but he has the fire of God to preach and teach the word of God. He is putting his life on the line each and every day for Jesus. In southern India it is very dangerous to preach Christ. There has been a lot of ministers killed lately.

The other site is called the Orphanage. It is also in the southern part of India and about 7 kilometers from brother Isaac. They go out into the deep jungles and rescue children from the drug lords, and the mafia. The drug lords and mafia use children as slaves to run drugs, and teach them to use guns for violence. These children are victims of greed and evil. They presently have 30 children in the orphanage, with 20 more coming in around the first part of February. They also take care of mentally ill people, and also preach the word of God wherever they go. They have told me that the rent on their building has not been paid for two months.

Now to say this before attaching the correspondence, both places have invited Janet and I to India. We would dearly love to go but we are on a fixed income. It would take us two years to save the funds to go. It is our intention at this time to send to both Nehemiah and to Isaac, what we would have set aside for the trip on a monthly basis. We feel that, at this time, they need our help more than our presence.

We are asking you to help support this good work that is going on in India. I ask if you cannot support financially, that you support in prayer. If you need us to give a congregational message anywhere in the U.S., we could go at our own expense. We are non-denominational, inter-racial ministers.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please pray with us.
